Vintage 14K Gold Chatelaine Twist Pencil

Description

Chatelaines were a set of short chains attached to a woman’s belt, used for carrying various tools for a woman’s daily use, such as keys, pencil, sewing kit, etc.

This chatelaine pencil is ribbed gold with black art deco design. There is a solid area for personalized engraving which is blank. Pencil measures approximately 4” long. Lead extends and retracts by twisting the top, and pencil contains one piece of lead. The bottom comes off to store lead in the hollow barrel. 14K along with makers mark is engraved on the top and on the inside bottom barrel as shown in pictures. Pencil weighs approximately 19 grams.

Pencil has some small dings throughout, as it looks to be well used. Overall, this is a very beautiful and rare piece.
